Working Field:
The job is embedded in a research project on hardware security of integrated circuits, in which security measures against optical probing attacks at chip level will be developed and evaluated.
The project is a cooperation between Technische Universität Berlin, Universität Bremen and the German Aerospace Center and provides deep insights into the research field.
Possible tasks:
Execution and evaluation of parameterized measurements using a semiconductor failure analysis microscope
Co-development of a simulator for optical probing
Co-development and implementation of novel optical attacks
Realization of own ideas
Requirements:
Interest in working on scientific questions
Confident use of (mathematical) programming languages like Matlab/Python/etc.
Knowledge of electrical engineering and integrated circuits desirable
Knowledge in the field of signal and system theory desirable
Good (German and) English language skills (spoken and written)

Student Workers
Our research engages in various fields of Computer Security including telecommunication network security, mobile & smart phone security, embedded device security, and microkernel-based secure & reliable systems. We are now offering internships for master/bachelor students, for a period of 3-6 months with emphasis on practical and theoretical work.
