Course Overview
| Content | The "Foundations of Computer
Security" lecture aims to give a thorough introduction into the
very diverse field of computer security from a theoretical point of
view. The focus here is on such computer security aspects which can be
precisely captured in a formal, logical, and mathematical way, and
which allow moreover proofs of meaningful theorems in that field.
Students of this course will learn how to think precisely about
computer security against arbitrary attacks, a skill that will remain
relevant and useful regardless of how technology and standards change.
With just enough formalism to maintain precision and rigor without
obscuring the development of ideas. We convey both the theories'
conceptual beauty and its relevance to practice. (see part I of the lecture: Foundations of Computer Security [3]) Ziel der Veranstaltung "Grundlagen der Computersicherheit" ist es, eine umfassende Einführung in die sehr unterschiedlichen Bereiche der Computersicherheit, von ihrem theoretischen Standpunkt aus betrachtet, zu geben. Der Fokus hierbei liegt auf solchen Computersicherheitsaspekten, die auf formelle, logische und mathematische Weise genau beschrieben werden können und darüber hinaus Beweise für bedeutungsvolle Lehransätze in diesem Bereich erlauben. Die Studenten dieses Kurses werden lernen, wie man genau über Computersicherheit gegen willkürliche Angriffe denkt, eine Fähigkeit, die relevant und nützlich bleiben wird in Bezug auf die Veränderungen von Technologie und Normen/Standards. Mit gerade genug Formalismus, um Präzision und Sorgfalt aufrecht zu erhalten und dabei den Geist nicht für die Entwicklung von Ideen zu vernebeln, vermitteln wir sowohl die konzeptionelle Schönheit der Theorie als auch ihre Relevanz in der Praxis. |
